JOB TITLE:       DevOps System Engineer

SALARY:          £65,000 - £80,000

LOCATION:      (Remote) London (Some travel to London Office)


Would you like to share and expand your AWS knowledge with us? Do you have a good grounding in DevOps? Are you a team player with a passion for collaboration, idea sharing and working closely with Developers and Technical Architects? Do you have technical expertise of Web and Linux/ Windows and enjoy automation? Got some new ideas, we're all ears. Need some additional training, no problem. We encourage all our engineers to work towards their AWS certifications and assist with training to help achieve this.


In this role, you will be developing, improving and working across all our AWS environments. This includes monitoring, security, maintenance and staying ahead of the game with AWS' ever-expanding list of services.


You will be in a DevOps role working closely with development teams to help them achieve their sprint goals and work to their roadmaps; including infrastructure code reviews, advising on security and infrastructure changes and general best practices. You will be involved in a wide range of activities; ensuring the availability, capacity, security and manageability of the infrastructure; Designing, implementing and coordinating enhancement projects to the core infrastructure and managing 3rd party resources to achieve strategic objectives in a rapidly changing, dynamic, high-pressure environment. 




  • Ability to work using Agile methodology
  • Advising on best practices
  • Implementing security solutions
  • Reviewing and improving current infrastructure
  • Cost saving implementations against AWS environments
  • Provision of 3rd level assistance for critical site incidents
  • Design and implementation of project-based enhancements
  • Monitoring the capacity and performance of the core server infrastructure
  • Evaluation and selection of suitable products to meet strategic goals

  • Mentoring and skills transfer




  • AWS Cloud/Web Technologies: EC2, ECS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, S3, Route53, Cloudwatch.
  • Good grasp of containerisation: Docker.
  • Continuous integration tooling: Github, TeamCity, Octopus, Bamboo.
  • Scripting experience: Bash, PowerShell, Python.
  • Good grasp of database technologies: RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, MSSQL.
  • Good experience using Linux & Windows 2012/2016.
  • Infrastructure as code: Terraform.
  • VMware / Virtual Server.
  • IIS v6 / v7.
  • .Net knowledge
  • The ability to guide others, balancing directive, coaching and facilitative working styles would be an advantage
